Typeface

Eddy is a modular typeface built from six elements within a 3×3 grid system. The design explores the relationship between structure and variation, using a strict underlying framework as a base for flexible composition.

Inspired by mechanical components, the letterforms combine angular cuts with rounded transitions, creating a balance between precision and softness. This tension gives the typeface a distinctly constructed, almost engineered character, while still maintaining rhythm and readability.

By working within a limited modular system, Eddy investigates how constraint can generate variation, turning repetition into a visual language of its own.
